Jincheng Coastal Leisure Park Introduction
Jincheng Coastal Recreation Park is located next to the mouth of Wujin Creek, offering a dual seafront view with a distant sight of Lieyu and Jianggong Islets. The park has explanatory signs for the various plants, allowing visitors to appreciate the beautiful scenery while also learning more about nature. Next to the park stands "Lion Fortress," which was historically used to prevent enemy forces from landing at the mouth of Wujin Creek. It is now utilized by the Kinmen County Senior Citizens' Rights Promotion Association. The fortress features military equipment like cannons and is open for public visits. Strolling along the scenic path by the park's embankment offers views of the rich ecosystem of the mangroves at the mouth of Wujin Creek, where the intertidal zone is teeming with mudskippers, fiddler crabs, and various shellfish. The surrounding marine area boasts beautiful coastlines and is a major wintering area for birds, with a variety of gulls, herons, and sandpipers often foraging along the shore. The path can lead to Tong'an Wharf, a historic port that once facilitated navigation between Kinmen and Xiamen, offering expansive views of the vast ocean and making it a popular spot for watching sunsets.
