Jincheng Coastal Recreation Park Introduction
Jincheng Coastal Recreation Park is located next to the estuary of Wuqiang Creek, with double seafront views that allow visitors to gaze at Lieyu and Jianggong Islands. The plants within the park are equipped with information boards, enabling travelers to appreciate the beautiful scenery while gaining a deeper understanding of nature. Adjacent to the park is "Lion Fort," which was formerly used to guard against enemy landings from the Wuqiang Creek estuary and is now utilized by the Kinmen County Association for the Rights of the Elderly. The fortress features military equipment such as cannons and is open for public visits. Strolling along the park's scenic walkways allows one to enjoy the rich natural ecology of the mangroves at the Wuqiang Creek estuary, where diverse intertidal life, including mudskippers, fiddler crabs, and mollusks, can be found. The surrounding coastal waters boast a beautiful shoreline, which serves as a significant wintering ground for birds, with gulls, herons, and sandpipers frequently foraging along the beach. The walkway leads to Tong'an Ferry, the former port of Kinmen that used to connect to Xiamen, offering expansive views of the ocean and becoming a popular spot for watching beautiful sunsets.
