Black Palace Hotel (Original Store) Introduction
The highly popular pork rib restaurant in Tamsui, "Black Shop," is not named "Black Shop" because it deceives customers, but rather because the original storefront was small and dark, a nickname that has been passed down by nearby students. The style of "Black Shop" pork rib rice is reminiscent of the nostalgic pork rib rice from military dependents' villages. The owner, with his excellent deep-frying skills, has stood strong in Tamsui for over twenty years. The sizable pork rib on top of the pork rib rice is crispy and fragrant, known for its wonderful traditional flavor. Even the film crew of "Close at Hand" often comes here for takeout. The pork rib rice at "Black Shop" features not only delicious pork ribs but also specially cooked rice that is soft, elastic, and chewy, paired with pickled cabbage and meat sauce tofu, preserving the taste of pork rib rice from the 1950s and 1960s. The reasonably priced pork rib rice is only NT$90. If you don’t want pork rib rice, there are also noodle options available. Adding some braised side dishes allows you to experience the owner's deep braising skills.
