Black Palace Hotel (Original Store) Introduction
The popular rib restaurant "Black Shop" in Tamsui is not named "black shop" because it deceives customers, but because the original storefront was small and dark, which has led to its nickname being passed down among local students. The style of "Black Shop" rib rice is reminiscent of the nostalgic rib rice from military dependents' villages. The owner has honed his deep-frying skills over the years, allowing the restaurant to stand firm in Tamsui for over twenty years. The large, substantial pork rib served atop the rice is fried to perfection, fragrant and crispy, with its wonderful traditional flavor gaining fame far and wide. Even the crew members of the film "Close at Hand" come here from time to time to order lunch boxes. In addition to the delicious pork ribs, the rice is specially cooked to be chewy and soft, paired with pickled mustard greens and meat sauce tofu, preserving the flavors of rib rice from the 1950s and 1960s. The affordable prices at "Black Shop" are also commendable, with rib rice priced at just 90 NT dollars. For those not fond of rib rice, there are noodle options available, and adding some braised side dishes allows you to taste the owner's deep braising skills. The legendary traditional rib rice from Tamsui features large and delicious pork ribs, attracting long lines of customers every holiday. One bowl is 90 NT dollars.
