Bali Famous Red Turtle Cake Introduction
Another famous snack in Bali is the red turtle cake located across from the Liao Tian Ding Temple. The red turtle cake is one of the offerings commonly used in religious rituals. Legend has it that there was a follower of Liao Tian Ding named Red Turtle, so tourists equate the legendary Red Turtle with the red turtle cake, making it the best souvenir of this area. The red turtle cake produced here is made from pure glutinous rice, giving it a chewy texture. Furthermore, because the skin is soft and cannot be stamped with shapes using molds, it differs from the typical red turtle cakes found elsewhere that have patterned imprints.
