Bali Famous Red Turtle Cake Introduction
One of the famous snacks in Bali is the red turtle cake located across from the Liaotian Ding Temple. The red turtle cake is one of the offerings commonly used in rituals, and it is said that Liaotian Ding had a sidekick named Hong Gui Zi (Little Red Turtle). As a result, tourists associate the legendary Hong Gui Zi with the red turtle cake, making it the best souvenir from this area. The red turtle cakes produced here are made from pure glutinous rice, giving them a chewy texture. Additionally, due to their soft skin, they cannot be stamped with molds, which makes them different from the common ones found elsewhere that have patterned designs.
