Bali Famous Red Turtle Cake Introduction
Another famous snack in Bali is the Rice Cake, located opposite the Liao Tian-Ding Temple. The Rice Cake is traditionally one of the offerings used in rituals. According to legend, Liao Tian-Ding had a sidekick named Hong Gui-Zai, so tourists associate the legendary Hong Gui-Zai with the Rice Cake, making it the best souvenir in the area. The Rice Cakes produced here are made from pure glutinous rice, giving them a chewy texture. Also, because the skin is soft and cannot be embossed with a mold, they differ from the commonly patterned Rice Cakes found elsewhere.
