Another famous snack in Bali is the rice dumpling (Hong Gui Guo) located across from the Liao Tian Ding Temple. The rice dumpling is traditionally one of the offerings used in worship. It is said that Liao Tian Ding had a sidekick named Hong Gui Zi, so tourists equate the legendary Hong Gui Zi with the rice dumpling, making it the best souvenir from this area. The rice dumplings produced here are made from pure glutinous rice, resulting in a chewy texture. Additionally, due to the soft skin, they cannot be shaped with molds, making them different from the commonly found rice dumplings that have imprinted patterns.
