Ayu Muay Tofu Introduction
The first shop specializing in "Mazu" on Jinshan Old Street, Ah Yu Mazu, has stood in Jinshan for over 20 years. Originally helping her family by making Mazu with her mother, Guo Liyun (Ah Yu Mama) learned her craft and attempted to transform this offering, which was originally meant as a tribute to gods during festivals, into a year-round snack. She later incorporated a variety of flavors, departing from the traditional options of peanut and sesame, thus becoming a renowned souvenir in the Jinshan area. Even former New Taipei City Mayor Eric Chu and the current city leader are regular customers, and it has become one of the official gifts for the city government. The early version of Mazu was larger, but it has since been refined into a petite, bite-sized snack that is very popular among young people, delivering a delightful taste of happiness.
