Tainan County Melon Cooperative Introduction
Tainan's classic gift: Where can you find the large and sweet cantaloupe? It's in the Houbi District of Tainan County! In the past, most people thought that to taste delicious cantaloupe, it had to be imported from Japan; however, quality cantaloupe is actually grown locally in Taiwan. Not only are the fruits large, but they also have a rich aroma, fine and juicy texture, and extremely high sweetness. They are produced year-round and are even exported to Canada and other regions, proving that their quality is on par with imports! Furthermore, this cantaloupe was the only fruit selected in the Tainan County gift competition prior to 2008.
