Tainan's Classic Souvenir: Where to find the large and sweet cantaloupe? It's in Houbi Township, Tainan County! In the past, most people thought that to taste delicious cantaloupe, it had to be imported from Japan; however, Taiwan has its own locally grown premium cantaloupe. Not only are the fruits large, but their flesh is aromatic, rich, finely textured, juicy, and extremely sweet. They are produced year-round and even exported to Canada and other places, with quality that rivals imported goods! Furthermore, it was the only fruit selected in the Tainan County souvenir competition before 2008.
