Knock on Wood Workshop Introduction
Originating in 1969, the early logging industry in Puli led to the establishment of over 450 woodworking factories. "Hai Shan Crafts" was founded by the three Shi brothers and produced a large number of Christmas decorations, such as Christmas pyramids and incense puppets for export. Notably, Hai Shan Crafts is among the few woodworking factories that produce nutcrackers and music boxes. In 2012, it transformed into a woodworking workshop that allows visitors to experience woodworking, inheriting the manufacturing expertise of the past. Transitioning from traditional OEM production to a self-owned brand in design, production, and marketing, the workshop utilizes idle factory space to promote the woodworking culture of Puli and highlight the value of past artisans. One of the second generation’s operational directions is to refine and customize the previously considered DIY products, turning them into exquisite gifts for holidays—offered to those who are immensely important in one's life. It embodies a sentiment that is irreplaceable, transforming simple materials into beautiful hopes for life. We hope you enjoy the products that involve woodworking and that they bring back memories during your important celebrations, motivating us to continue our efforts.
