Knock Knock Woodworking Studio Introduction
Originating in 1969, the early timber industry in Puli led to the establishment of over 450 woodworking factories, giving rise to the "Haishan Handicraft Workshop" under the three Shi brothers. The workshop produced a large quantity of Christmas decorations, such as Christmas pyramids and incense puppets for export. Notably, Haishan Handicraft Workshop is one of the few woodworking factories that produce "nutcrackers" and "music boxes." In 2012, it transformed into a woodworking studio where visitors can experience crafting music boxes, inheriting the manufacturing experience of traditional woodworking. It shifted from traditional contract manufacturing to design, production, and marketing under its own brand, while utilizing the factory's idle space to promote the historical woodworking culture of Puli and highlight the value of past artisans. One of the second generation's business directions is to refine and customize what were once seen as DIY products, turning them into exquisite holiday gifts for someone especially important. This represents a sense of self-fulfillment that cannot be replaced, allowing simple materials to become beautiful aspects of life. The hope is for visitors to enjoy the sound of woodcraft products and create lasting memories during important holidays, making it worth the ongoing effort!
