Ba Yi Workshop Introduction
This mountain studio, shrouded in mist, has a beautiful name, "Bai," which is an intimate term for "woman" in the Paiwan language, connoting "dear." It was established after the Morakot typhoon as a workshop for producing traditional Paiwan ceramic beads by women. The Morakot typhoon not only severely impacted the daily lives of the Jialan community but also devastated its culture. Feeling the cultural loss in their community due to the disaster, local women set up the "Jialan Bai Workshop" to revitalize the community's industry. A group of mothers living in the village began creating handmade ceramic beads, forming a creative platform similar to a workshop. Under the guidance of Wu Shulun, who has been researching Paiwan culture for a long time, they started to engage with the cultural creativity of ceramic bead workshops and initiated research related to product design, gradually creating exquisite ceramic bead crafts that embody the spirit of indigenous culture.
