Zhuhai Fishing Cultural Creative Museum Introduction

Nanfang'ao Fishing Port in Su'ao Township, Yilan County, has preserved traditional fishing tools and methods from the Japanese colonial period since the 1920s. This has infused the local fishing community with a distinct Japanese maritime culture, passing down many customs, one of which is the "Blessing of Abundant Catch." In the early fishing villages, whenever a new boat was launched, family and friends would gift a "big catch flag" to express good wishes and support for one another. Therefore, at the end of 2015, the Su'ao Fishermen's Association established the "Blessing of Abundant Catch Cultural Product Museum," hoping to continue preserving this heartfelt tradition of fishing village culture, offering the most authentic fishing village experiences and fresh catch, as well as the genuine flavors of fishing village mothers. The aim is for every visitor to embrace the spirit of "health, happiness, safety, and a blessed catch." The Fish Tornado Tunnel features a 360-degree realistic 3D fish tornado, created by Taiwan's leading 3D visual artist, Teacher Tu Long. It represents the imagery of Nanfang'ao Fishing Port, showcasing iconic fish such as the Japanese knife fish, mackerel, yellowfin tuna, and coral reef species. Using unique 3D painting techniques and fluorescent paint, Teacher Tu Long brings the fish within the 3D tunnel to life, making it feel as though one is truly within this wondrous underwater world. Nanfang 4Q will creatively design using the four most abundant fish species from Nanfang'ao, allowing the public to move beyond stereotypical impressions of local fish products and gain a clearer understanding of the characteristic fish species of Nanfang'ao. Little Qing (Mackerel): Lively and playful, with a bouncy and cute appearance, they love to hang out in groups, camping and chatting around the campfire at night. Ba Jiao Mei (Swordfish): A spirited swimmer with a penchant for flashy outfits that draw attention, though not to be underestimated due to their striking appearance. Ah Gui (Japanese Knife Fish): Appearing somewhat comical but with a passionate heart, they are the modern-day ideal man, embodying the saying, "I may be ugly, but I'm gentle." Ah Lang Ge (Shark): Strong and powerful, they are solitary and timid but possess sensitive instincts and an acute sense of smell, making them adept at playing hide and seek, quickly finding your hiding place.
