Southern Cross-Sea Lookout Introduction
The magnificent bird's-eye view of Nan'ao Fishing Port has become a must-capture landscape for many photography enthusiasts. The Nan'ao Observation Deck, built on a cliff, has therefore become the best spot for photography. Standing on the wooden observation deck, one can enjoy a vast view of the endless Pacific Ocean, the rolling Bihyue Mountain, the unique Tofu Cape landscape, and the classic sight of ships docked at the fishing port. On clear days, one can even glimpse the distant Guishan Island! The Nan'ao Observation Deck, which was expanded and renovated from an existing parking lot, is located at the 108-kilometer mark of the Suhua Highway, at an altitude of approximately 140 meters. This height is sufficient to overlook the Shuang'ao Fishing Port beneath the blue sky and ocean, and the spacious outdoor platform is free from any obstructions, making every spot a great angle for enjoying the view. When you visit here, don’t forget to take out your phone or camera and capture the picturesque scene of Nan'ao, where the sea meets the sky! As the day progresses, the observation deck offers different enchanting views. The morning colors of sunrise gently usher in a new day for the small port of Nan'ao; the afternoon sun shines brightly, making the fishing port's scenery even more vibrant; by sunset, as the sky transforms from red clouds to glimmering fishing lights, the fishing village of Nan'ao returns to a tranquil night. If you want to fully appreciate the harbor scenery and the beautiful landscape where mountains meet the sea, Nan'an Elementary School and the Nan'ao Observation Deck are highly recommended spots to enjoy this natural beauty from above, allowing you to empty your mind and soul!
