Doufu Cape Recreational Area Introduction
Dofu Cape is a beautiful little bay in Nangang Harbor, formed by the sandy neck topography connecting Duyan Island and Lian Island Sandbar. It is named after the unique tofu-shaped rock formations, attracting many travelers eager to witness the beauty of the rocks. Here, visitors can choose from a variety of recreational activities, especially during the summer when the waves are gentle. The arc-shaped bay is an excellent spot for swimming and snorkeling, allowing close-up views of fish swimming among the coral reefs, connecting with the ocean and enjoying nature’s moments. Walking along the coastal trail, one can stroll through the coastal terraced area, the scenic rest area, and the coral beach area, while also enjoying the distant view of Biyue Mountain between the Neipi Bay and watching many anglers climbing down the cliffs for their exciting fishing experience. In addition to enjoying the water and listening to the waves, Dofu Cape, which faces east, is also a fantastic spot for watching the sunrise. As the sun slowly rises from the sea, the morning glow softly illuminates Nangang Harbor; during sunset, the evening hue sparkles on the water, lighting up the fishing boats returning home, with the day and night scenes each offering their own charm. The nearby cross-sea bridge is the first single-beam suspension bridge in Asia, spanning the fishing port's channel and connecting the north and south coasts of Nangang Harbor, making it a striking landmark in the area! In recent years, a new water activity has emerged at Dofu Cape, which is easier to learn than surfing: “SUP (Stand-Up Paddleboarding).” This activity consists of a large surfboard and a paddle taller than the person, derived from surfing. Remember, whether snorkeling or paddleboarding, it’s best to have a coach familiar with the local terrain and waters to ensure safety while having fun! **Reminder**: This area is not supervised; visitors should avoid entering at night, pay attention to relevant signs, and avoid deep or dangerous areas to prevent accidents.
