Doufu Cape Recreation Area Introduction
Tofu Cape is a picturesque small bay in South San Yu, formed by the connection of Lian Island and Lian Island sandbar, known for its unique tofu-shaped rock formations that attract many travelers eager to witness the beauty of the rocks. The area offers a variety of recreational activities, especially during summer when the waves are gentle. The curved bay is a great place for swimming and snorkeling, where visitors can enjoy close encounters with fish swimming among the coral reefs, getting close to the ocean and enjoying the natural environment. Along the coastal trail, one can stroll through the coastal terrace area, the scenic forest recreation area, and the coral beach area, while also catching distant views of Bijia Mountain between the Nei Pi Bay and watching skilled shore fishers climbing down the rock walls. In addition to water activities and listening to the waves, Tofu Cape is also an excellent spot to observe the rising sun, as the sunrise slowly ascends from the sea, bathing South San Yu in the gentle morning hues; while at sunset, the evening colors ripple across the sky, illuminating the fishing boats returning home, with day and night offering distinct charms. Nearby, the cross-sea bridge is the first single-beam suspension bridge in Asia, spanning the fishing port channel and connecting the northern and southern shores of South San Yu, serving as a dazzling landmark in the area! In recent years, Tofu Cape has introduced a new water activity, easier to pick up than surfing: "SUP (Stand Up Paddle) surfing," which consists of a large surfboard and a paddle longer than the user's height, an extension of surfing activities. It is recommended to have a local instructor familiar with the terrain and sea conditions when participating in activities like snorkeling or stand-up paddle surfing for both enjoyment and safety! **Reminder**: There are no management staff in the area, so visitors should avoid entering at night and be mindful of related signs when recreating, avoiding deep and dangerous areas to prevent accidents.
