Shihpai County Boundary Park Introduction

The Beiyi Road extends east from Xindian, passing through Daqijiao, Xiaogetou, Pinglin, and Shiding, reaching Yilan Erchong, with a total length of 82.6 kilometers. It is part of Provincial Highway No. 9, and the famous "Nine Bends and Eighteen Turns" between Sidu and Toucheng features magnificent scenery with winding and thrilling routes. The Shihpai County Boundary Park, at an elevation of 538 meters, is located at the ridge point along Beiyi Road, serving as a rest point for travelers, and offers a panoramic view of the Lanyang Plain and the Pacific Ocean. The Sidu苗圃 Trail is situated at the junction of New Taipei City and Yilan County and is one of the important seedling centers in northern Taiwan operated by the Forestry Bureau. It belongs to a subtropical humid climate zone, and systematic afforestation in the nearby mountains has been carried out since the Japanese occupation. The nursery also features bamboo forests, streams, and forest trails, with a humid environment providing a high-quality habitat for wildlife. The endpoint of the Sidu苗圃 Trail – the viewing platform – allows visitors to overlook the entire Sidu苗圃, marking the end of the trail. After being transformed into a northern seedling center, Sidu苗圃 has successfully restored over 20 species of trees and shrubs, including Taiwan cypress, Niu-zhuang, and Wulai rhododendron. The guided map indicates that the Sidu苗圃 Trail is 1.4 kilometers long, taking approximately 100 minutes round trip. This trail connects to Shihpai County Boundary Park, enabling visitors to experience forest ecology while enjoying the beautiful views of Lanyang.
