Brown Boulevard, Yilan Introduction
The Brown Boulevard is not only in Taitung; there is also a beautiful stretch of it in Sanqi Village, Dongshan Township, Yilan County, which is a hidden gem of Yilan. Unlike the straight Brown Boulevard in Chihshang, Taitung, Yilan’s version features winding paths that enhance the visual appeal, providing even more stunning scenery than that of Taitung's Brown Boulevard. From late June to early July, when the lush green rice fields begin to turn golden, visitors can admire the magnificent views of golden rice waves and winding paths from a lookout point, free from the interference of power lines. With the backdrop of blue skies and white clouds, and the expansive view of distant mountains, the landscape is as beautiful as a painting. Riding a bicycle or taking a stroll through the rice fields, with a gentle breeze carrying the fragrance of rice, encourages one to slow down, calm the mind, and enjoy this tranquil moment. The Yilan Brown Boulevard prohibits vehicle access and only allows walking and cycling, with all vehicles required to park next to Fengzun Temple. Visitors using public transportation can take a train to Dongshan Guaping Station, then rent a bicycle and ride along Chengxing Road before turning left onto Sanfeng Road to reach the area for a bicycle tour amidst the rice waves.
