Dongshan River Water Park Introduction
The Dongshan River Eco Park, which combines water and greenery, is located by the Dongshan River. The striking red arc of the Lizuancian Bridge can be seen from the park, creating a beautiful scene of blue sky, green land, and a bridge spanning the shimmering river, which has left a lasting impression on many visitors. This park attracts numerous families looking to relax and have fun! Everywhere you look, you'll find the concept and clever design of "getting close to water and nature." The land-water interface is often designed with stepped platforms that gradually immerse into the water, or the land extends into the water via sloped pathways. From the theater's central stage, you can gaze out towards the sea, where a water stage and five conical pebble hills align opposite the neck of Guishan Island, subtly incorporating the natural landmark of Lanyang into the park. Historically, the Dongshan River has been said to be guarded by the Azure Dragon and Yellow Dragon, which is why the riverside features undulating, curvy dragon slopes made of pebbles, inlaid with blue, green, yellow, and orange ceramic pieces. On the steps of the dragon slope, you'll find playful mosaic artwork created by children from Yilan. The well-planned park is divided into three major zones, all designed for visitors of all ages to enjoy getting close to water. The rowing area can be used for practicing dragon boat racing and Western-style rowing, and you can also take a small boat to enjoy the romantic scenery reflected in the water; the wading zone features varying depths that only reach the ankles, perfect for families to splash around and cool off. The large white stones and the crescent-shaped stone walls in the pool carry symbolic meanings—the small walls represent the bamboo fences used in duck farming, while the large white stones symbolize ducks leisurely swimming in the water, reflecting the traditional duck-raising families of Yilan. There’s also a children’s play area, divided into a swimming pool, a physical activity pool, and a river adventure. In summer, bring your swimsuits for some fun! Additionally, the swimming pool is designed to mimic the winding curves of the Lanyang River, so surprises abound throughout the Dongshan River Eco Park. When you visit the Dongshan River Eco Park, consider cycling along the river to appreciate its majestic views, play energetically with the waves, or take a leisurely stroll along the riverbank to unwind away from the hustle and bustle. You can also come to enjoy the annual Dragon Boat Festival and the International Children’s Play Festival. No matter how you choose to play, the Dongshan River Eco Park will definitely leave you satisfied!
