Dongshan River Water Park Introduction
The Dongshan River Eco Park, which closely connects water and greenery, is located alongside the Dongshan River. At a glance, the striking red arc of the Lizijian Bridge can be seen, creating a beautiful scene of blue skies, green fields, and the red bridge spanning the shimmering river, which is the impression many have of the Dongshan River Eco Park. This park attracts many families looking to relax and enjoy themselves! Here, the philosophy of "closeness to water and nature" is evident everywhere, with land and riverbanks designed with tiered platforms that gradually descend into the water or extend onto the water via gentle slopes. From the central stage of the theater, the view stretches toward the sea, showcasing a water stage and five conical pebble hills that align elegantly at the neck of Guishan Island, subtly introducing a landmark of Lanyang nature into the park. The Dongshan River has long been associated with legends of the Azure Dragon and Yellow Dragon protecting its banks; therefore, the riverbanks are built with cobblestones in undulating and curving "dragon slopes," adorned with green, blue, yellow, and orange ceramic pieces. On the stairs of the dragon slope, there are whimsical mosaic artworks created by local children. The well-planned park can be divided into three main areas, all designed to let visitors of all ages engage in water activities. The rowing area is suitable for practicing dragon boating and Western-style rowing, as well as enjoying the romantic scenery of the water reflecting the sky from a small boat. The shallow water area has varying depths that only cover the ankles, where many adults hold hands with children to wade in and cool off. The large white stones and crescent-shaped small stone walls in the water carry symbolic meanings: the small stone wall represents the bamboo fence used for raising ducks, while the large white stone symbolizes ducks swimming peacefully in the water, depicting the traditional duck-raising culture of Yilan families. There’s also the beloved play area for children, which is divided into a swimming pool, an exercise pool, and a river journey. In summer, bringing swimsuits is a must for a great time! Additionally, the swimming pool is designed after the winding form of the Lanyang River, making every corner of the Dongshan River Eco Park full of surprises. When visiting Dongshan River Eco Park, why not take a bike ride along the river to enjoy the landscape and reflections of the Dongshan River, or indulge in fun water play? Alternatively, you can take a leisurely stroll by the river, unwind, and escape the hustle and bustle, or join the annual Dragon Boat Festival and International Children's Play Festival. No matter how you choose to experience it, Dongshan River Eco Park is sure to leave you satisfied!
