Taiwan Theater Museum Introduction
The Taiwan Theater Museum is the first museum established in Yilan County and the first public local museum in Taiwan, founded in 1990. It is conveniently located near Yilan Railway Station, surrounded by a tranquil environment, making it an ideal place to explore Taiwan's traditional theater culture. The museum aims to preserve and promote traditional Taiwanese theater, focusing on collecting historical materials of important folk theater genres such as Gezaixi, Puppet Theater, and Shadow Play. It conducts in-depth investigations, interviews, and organization of these materials, becoming a crucial hub for theater research in Taiwan.
