Jimi Square Introduction
Have you ever thought about what it would be like if picture books came to life? At Jimi Square near the Yilan train station, the dreams of Jimi fans have finally come true. Originally an old dormitory area for the railway, Jimi Square has been transformed into the first Jimi-themed square in Taiwan, centered around the theme of "Moments of Memory and Scenery." Yilan is the hometown of the famous picture book artist Jimi, and the square retains its historical buildings and old trees. Here, you can see the male and female protagonists from "Turn Left, Turn Right" hurrying in opposite directions or wait with the boy and girl from "Starry Starry Night" for a bus that will never arrive, as well as the suitcase filled with travelers' memories from "Subway"… Every installation in Jimi Park sparks endless imagination and emotion. The nearby Happiness Transfer Station, just a five-minute walk away, no longer gives the impression of rush. It encourages tourists to slow down, take their time to appreciate the surrounding beauty, and create lasting memories of Yilan, a place filled with smiles.
