Jimi Square Introduction
Have you ever imagined what it would be like if picture books stepped into the real world? At the Jimmy Plaza near the Yilan Train Station, the dream of many fans of Jimmy has finally come true. The plaza was originally a former railway dormitory area and was later transformed into a transfer center for highway buses. Yilan is known as the hometown of the famous picture book artist Jimmy, thus the plaza is themed "Moments of Memory" and it is the first Jimmy-themed plaza in Taiwan. It also preserves the original historical buildings and old trees. Here, you can see the male and female protagonists from "Turn Left, Turn Right" hurriedly going in their respective directions, or wait alongside the boy and girl from "Starry Starry Night" for a bus that will never come, and encounter the suitcase in "The Subway" that carries the memories of travelers. Every piece of installation art in the Jimmy Park provides infinite space for imagination and emotion. The Happiness Transfer Station, just a 5-minute walk away, no longer gives the impression of a hurried transit point. Instead, it allows tourists to slow down, take their time, and appreciate the surrounding beauty while creating lasting memories of Yilan, a place filled with smiles.
