Eco Warriors, let’s turn waste into gold! An interesting guided course that takes you to understand what green resource technology is, how the recycled materials in your hands can be transformed into creative cultural products, and hands-on learning for science popularization.

Central Taiwan Environmental Resources Education Center Introduction

Zhongtai Resource Technology Plant No. 2, located in Taoyuan Environmental Protection Technology Park, specializes in the recycling of waste lighting fixtures and the treatment of mercury-containing waste, promoting the concept of "turning waste into gold." In 2014, it established an Environmental Resource Education Center certified by the Environmental Protection Administration of the Executive Yuan to actively promote resource recycling and reuse. Currently, it welcomes visits from government agencies, universities, local communities, and international guests, making Taiwan's leading green technology known globally and striving together to contribute to environmental protection. Zhongtai Resource Technology Plant No. 2 has independently developed world-leading waste lighting source recycling and disassembly technology, characterized by its ability to convert 95% of waste into usable resources, with processed mercury waste achieving high purity and recovery rates. Additionally, the plant employs waste glass treatment technology to produce recycled resource glass, effectively reducing resource waste. The Zhongtai Environmental Resource Education Center offers two types of guided courses: Course One, "The Three Feet Above You Have Light Tubes - Mercury Pollution and Its Impact on the Environment," lasts for two hours and provides an in-depth understanding of mercury pollution, its health impacts, and ways to actively avoid it. Course Two, "Turning Waste into Treasure - Recycling Waste Light Tubes and Glass," teaches the correct concepts of waste sorting, discovering reusable resources from trash, and transforming waste into artworks with creativity. At the end of the course, participants are invited to use their imagination and creativity in a DIY glass art project, specifically utilizing recycled glass materials from the plant, to practically demonstrate environmental protection concepts. This unique handmade souvenir creates a meaningful memory of the visit.

Tickets：NT$200 (including DIY materials fee); if only visiting, a fee of NT$100 will be charged.

Remarks：- Visits are by appointment only. Please make a reservation by phone or online one week prior to your visit. - Each session is open to groups of 10-30 people.
