Yong'an North Coast Recreation Area Introduction
Are crowded fishing ports preventing you from truly experiencing the beauty of coastal ecology? Then come to the Yong'an North Coast Recreational Area! With fewer tourists and more vitality, you can leisurely stroll along the riverside walkway, closely observe the rich wetland ecology, and climb up to the observation pavilion for a panoramic view of the Taiwan Strait, embracing the boundless scenery and trying out new experiences at Yong'an North Coast! From the parking lot next to the Rainbow Bridge, you can reach the riverside walkway on the Houhu River embankment, which is approximately 600 meters long, with a wide and easy-to-walk pebble surface and wooden railings on both sides. Along the way, there are stone benches and wooden pavilions for travelers to sit down and enjoy the refreshing sea breeze, quietly admire the adorable sights of fiddler crabs and water birds foraging in the wetland, which is truly therapeutic! The walkway ends at the coastal park, which is equipped with leisure facilities like a climbing wall and a rope bridge. Walking into the thickets, you will see a concrete bridge spanning the river; as you walk up, you can gaze upstream, where reeds are abundant in the water, while downstream, there are many anglers fishing along the creek. On the other end of the concrete bridge, there is a vast area of Casuarina windbreak forest, which was once one of the largest windbreak forests in Taiwan. Walking along the wooden boardwalk set up within the forest, the dense foliage softens the sunlight that filters down, making the riverside stroll even more delightful. The boardwalk is over 200 meters long and leads to the New Bin Houhu River Bridge; to the left is the Hai Pavilion, a two-story wooden observation pavilion where many travelers often take a break. The adjacent coastal walkway marks the northern boundary of the Yong'an North Coast Recreational Area, which is about 700 meters long. For travelers wishing to get closer to nature, the North Coast is a great alternative to the bustling fishing port; listen to the rhythmic waves crashing against the shore and see the vast Taiwan Strait glimmering brilliantly under the sunlight. The beauty of this hidden gem is truly captivating.
