Nankan River Waterfront Park Introduction
The Nankan River flows through the major areas of Guishan, Taoyuan, and Luchu, with six riverside parks along the route providing residents with the joy of enjoying nature without traveling far, embodying a lifestyle centered on well-being. ■ Guishan First Riverside Park – Located beside Tongxin 2nd Road in Guishan District, this park is surrounded by vast green spaces and flowing waters. It features various sports facilities, children's play areas, and leisure zones for the elderly, making it a great place for families to enjoy. The park also displays demilitarized military weapons, including tanks, fighter jets, anti-aircraft guns, and ship anchors, resembling a small military history museum. The Moonlight Bridge with its blue structure has a lively design, and the dazzling light sculptures add to the vibrant riverside atmosphere at night. ■ Taoyuan First Riverside Park – On the right bank of the Nankan River, from Chenggong Bridge downstream to Tianzhu Bridge, this park includes large love-shaped sculptures, a Happiness Square, red “LOVE” artworks, a four-leaf clover pavilion, heart lock trails, and a steel-framed rainbow bridge. At night, the splendid light and shadow reflections on the river make it a popular romantic date spot. ■ Guiji Riverside Park – Situated along Sanyuan Street and next to Tianzhu Bridge in Taoyuan District, this park features lawns, green belts, leisure trails, and bike paths, allowing visitors to walk or cycle while enjoying nature. There’s also an observation platform to appreciate the rich ecology along the waterfront, offering a leisurely wide view. ■ Pet Demonstration Park – Located alongside Mingguang East Road in Taoyuan District, this park is designed for pets with play facilities like ramps, tire rings, and balance beams, allowing them to play in a safe environment. The park has cleaning facilities and pet waste bins (with plastic bags), providing a clean recreational area for visitors. It covers an area of only 0.3 hectares but is exquisite and complete, making it an excellent spot for walking pets. ■ Jingguo Environmental Park – Situated beside Jingguo Road in Taoyuan District, this lush park features leisure trails, making it easy to stroll in an urban jungle. It has a dedicated pet area with play tire rings, slopes, drinking water facilities, and cleaning areas, fully catering to pet owners. ■ Guangming Riverside Park – Located beside Section 2 of Guangming Road in Luchu District, Guangming Riverside Park spans approximately 21,000 square meters and includes basketball courts and fitness facilities suitable for all ages, making it a great place for local residents to exercise and relax. The large grassy areas, along with 30 cherry blossom trees, create a picturesque scene with intertwining crimson and green from late winter to early spring, enhancing the serene riverside charm.
