Nankan River Waterfront Park Introduction
The Nankan River flows through the major areas of Guishan, Taoyuan, and Luzhu, with six waterfront parks along the way providing urban dwellers a delightful opportunity to enjoy nature without having to travel far, embodying a lifestyle that prioritizes livability. ■ Guishan First Riverside Park - Located beside Tongxin Second Road in Guishan District, this park is surrounded by vast green spaces and gently flowing waters. In addition to various sports facilities, it features a children's playground and a leisure area for seniors, making it a perfect place for families to enjoy together. The park also displays retired military equipment such as tanks, fighter jets, anti-aircraft guns, and ship anchors, resembling a small military history museum. The uniquely designed Xingyue Bridge with its blue body and dazzling light sculpture adds charm to the riverside, changing its appearance at night. ■ Taoyuan First Riverside Park - On the right bank of the Nankan River, this park stretches from the Chenggong Bridge downstream to the Tianzhu Bridge. It boasts large heart-shaped sculptures, a Happiness Square, a red LOVE installation, a clover-style gazebo, a lock bridge, and the steel-constructed Qingxi Rainbow Bridge. The brilliant lights that reflect on the river at dusk create a romantic and popular dating spot. ■ Huiji Riverside Park - Located beside Sanyuan Street and Tianzhu Bridge in Taoyuan District, this park features grassy areas, greenery, leisure walking paths, and bike lanes, allowing visitors to walk and enjoy the breeze while being close to nature. There is also an observation platform to appreciate the rich ecology of the riverside and to enjoy the expansive views. ■ Pet Demonstration Park - Located beside Mingguang East Road in Taoyuan District, this park is equipped with climbing frames, tire hoops, and balance beams specifically designed for pets, allowing them to exercise in a safe environment. The park provides cleaning facilities and dog waste bins (with plastic bags), creating a clean recreational area for visitors. Despite its small size of 0.3 hectares, it is a well-crafted pet-friendly spot. ■ Jingguo Environmental Park - Situated beside Jingguo Road in Taoyuan District, this lush park features leisure walking paths, allowing for an enjoyable stroll through the urban jungle. It includes a designated pet exercise area equipped with play tire rings and ramps, along with drinking and washing facilities, ensuring a comprehensive experience for pet owners. ■ Guangming Riverside Park - Covering approximately 21,000 square meters beside Section 2 of Guangming Road in Luzhu District, this park offers basketball courts and fitness facilities for all age groups, making it an excellent place for local residents to exercise and relax. Its vast grassy area, along with 30 cherry blossom trees that bloom from late winter to early spring, adds to the serene atmosphere of the riverside.
