Nankan River Waterfront Park Introduction
The Nankan River flows through three main areas: Guishan, Taoyuan, and Luzhu. The six riverside parks along the way provide residents with the joy of enjoying nature without having to travel far, embodying a lifestyle focused on well-being. ■ Guishan First Riverside Park - Situated beside Tongxin Second Road in Guishan District, it is surrounded by vast greenery and flowing streams. The park features various sports facilities, a children's playground, and a leisure area for the elderly, allowing families to enjoy themselves. Additionally, it showcases decommissioned military weapons including tanks, fighter jets, anti-aircraft guns, and anchors, resembling a miniature military history museum. The Star and Moon Bridge, with its blue structure and unique design, along with dazzling lighting, enhances the riverside’s charm at night. ■ Taoyuan First Riverside Park - Located on the right bank of the Nankan River, from the Chenggong Bridge downstream to the Tianzhu Bridge, the park includes large heart-shaped sculptures, a happiness plaza, a red LOVE installation, a four-leaf clover pavilion, a heart lock walkway, and a steel-built Qingxi Rainbow Bridge. The brilliant light reflections on the river as night falls make it a popular romantic dating spot. ■ Huiji Riverside Park - Along Sanyuan Street and beside Tianzhu Bridge in Taoyuan District, the park features grass, green belts, leisure walkways, and bike paths, allowing visitors to walk and enjoy nature. A viewing platform offers a chance to appreciate the rich ecology along the riverside and enjoy a broad view. ■ Pet Demonstration Park - Located next to Mingguang East Road in Taoyuan District, this park has climbing frames, tire rings, and balance beams designed for pets, providing a safe environment for them to exercise. It is equipped with washing facilities and dog waste bins (with plastic bags) to ensure a clean recreational area for visitors. Although the park is only 0.3 hectares, it is well-designed and complete, making it a great place for pet walking. ■ Jingguo Environmental Park - Adjacent to Jingguo Road in Taoyuan District, this lush park features leisure walkways, allowing for easy strolls in the urban jungle. The pet-free zone includes game tire rings and ramps, along with drinking and washing facilities. ■ Guangming Riverside Park - Located beside Section 2 of Guangming Road in Luzhu District, Guangming Riverside Park covers approximately 21,000 square meters. It offers basketball courts and fitness facilities suitable for all ages, making it a great place for local residents to exercise and relax. The expansive green grass, along with 30 cherry blossom trees, enhances the tranquil riverside atmosphere from late winter to early spring as pink blossoms and green leaves intertwine.
