Nankan River Waterfront Park Introduction
The Nankan River flows through three major areas: Guishan, Taoyuan, and Luzhu. The six riverside parks along the route provide city dwellers with the joy of enjoying nature without needing to travel far, embodying a lifestyle that prioritizes well-being. ■ Guishan First Riverside Park - Located beside Tongxin Second Road in Guishan District, this park is surrounded by vast green spaces and flowing streams. It features various sports facilities, a children's playground, and a leisure area for seniors, making it a great place for families to enjoy together. Additionally, the park displays decommissioned military equipment including tanks, fighter jets, anti-aircraft guns, and ship anchors, resembling a mini military history museum. The star and moon bridge, with its blue structure, has a distinctive design, and its dazzling light show adds to the riverside's charm at night. ■ Taoyuan First Riverside Park - On the right bank of the Nankan River, from the Chenggong Bridge downstream to the Tianzhu Bridge, this park features large heart-shaped sculptures, a happiness square, a giant red "LOVE" installation, a four-leaf clover pavilion, and the steel-framed Qingshui Rainbow Bridge. With its spectacular lights reflecting on the river at dusk, it has become a popular romantic dating spot. ■ Huiji Riverside Park - Located along Sanyuan Street and beside the Tianzhu Bridge in Taoyuan District, this park features grassy areas, green belts, recreational pathways, and bike lanes, allowing visitors to enjoy walking and biking while getting closer to nature. There’s an observation deck where one can admire the rich ecology of the riverside and enjoy a leisurely panoramic view. ■ Pet Demonstration Park - Located beside Mingguang East Road in Taoyuan District, this park is designed specifically for pets, featuring climbing structures, tire rings, and balance beams, enabling pets to play in a safe environment. The park is equipped with cleaning facilities and dog waste bins (with plastic bags), providing a clean recreational space for visitors. Although it only covers 0.3 hectares, it is well-designed and complete, making it an excellent place for walking pets. ■ Jingguo Environmental Park - Situated along Jingguo Road in Taoyuan District, this park boasts lush greenery and recreational pathways, allowing visitors to stroll leisurely in the urban jungle. It also has a designated unleashing area for pets, equipped with game tire rings, play ramps, as well as drinking and cleaning facilities. ■ Guangming Riverside Park - Covering approximately 21,000 square meters beside Section 2 of Guangming Road in Luzhu District, this park not only features basketball courts and fitness facilities for various age groups but is also a great spot for local residents to exercise and relax. With large expanses of green grass and 30 cherry blossom trees, the park becomes a beautiful sight with vibrant pink and green during the transition from late winter to early spring, adding to the serene riverside charm.
