Charming Golden Triangle Business District (Charming Golden Triangle Local Characteristic Industry Development Association) Introduction
The Charming Golden Triangle Business District is located in the Longgang Zhongzheng area of Taoyuan City. It is named after the unique shops and residents that mainly come from the Golden Triangle region of Yunnan and Myanmar, situated at the intersection of the three towns: Zhongli, Pingzhen, and Bade. The business district is renowned for its culinary culture primarily influenced by Yunnan, Myanmar, and Thai immigrants. Although the original site of the Zongzheng New Village, where the first batch of troops who retreated to Taiwan settled, has been demolished and replaced with buildings, Zongzheng Market, with 400 traditional stalls and over 50 various rice noodle shops, as well as the national flag-raising ceremony and drum dance activities in Yunnan Park, continue to foster a rich and diverse culinary culture, immigrant stories, and multi-ethnic festivals—three major characteristics of the business district that embraces inclusivity. Two major regional festive events are highlighted: the Longgang Rice Noodle Festival, held every April, which showcases the diverse ethnic customs of the Golden Triangle and the culinary cultures of Yunnan, Myanmar, and Thailand, has become one of the most distinctive festive feasts in Taiwan. Secondly, the Double Ten Carnival and the National Flag-raising Ceremony at the National Flag House, combined with an inter-ethnic parade and a unique Zongzheng market, feature a grand procession led by a large Harley-Davidson motorcycle group alongside thousands dressed in ethnic attire, making it a celebrated event in the region. The district also offers a variety of ethnic dancing and dining experiences, contributing to its recognition as the third most charming business district and the second most story-rich business district in the country. In 2022, the Exotic Story Museum was officially established, presenting the heroic yet tragic history of the exiled troops who bravely fought on the Yunnan-Myanmar border to safeguard the Taiwan Strait, becoming the largest spokesperson for the business district. The museum will lead visitors through more than 50 rice noodle shops, the Golden Triangle folk dance troupe, and the culturally vibrant Zongzheng New Village Cultural Park—integrating nostalgia and modernity, as well as the inspiring historical experiences at the Exotic Story Museum. All visitors are welcomed to explore a plethora of flavors, open their visual senses, and emotionally engage in a passionate and diverse six-sense experience.
