Charming Golden Triangle Shopping District (Charming Golden Triangle Local Characteristic Industry Development Association) Introduction
The Charming Golden Triangle Shopping District is located in the Longgang Zhongzheng area of Taoyuan City. The area is named for its unique shops and residents, who often come from the exotic Golden Triangle regions of Myanmar and Yunnan, and it is situated at the junction of Chungli, Pingzhen, and Bade. Renowned for its food culture primarily influenced by Yunnanese, Burmese, and Thai immigrants, the original site of the Zhongzheng New Village, where the first group of soldiers resettled after withdrawal, has been demolished and rebuilt into a high-rise building. However, the Zhongzheng Market continues to thrive with 400 traditional stalls, over 50 various rice noodle shops, flag-raising ceremonies at the National Flag House, and events like the Yunlin Park dancing activities. These contribute to the diverse and rich food culture, immigrant migration stories, and various ethnic festivals, which are the three main characteristics of the shopping district, embodying inclusivity. Two major regional festive activities stand out: the Longgang Rice Noodle Festival, held every April, showcases the multicultural atmosphere of the Golden Triangle along with Yunnanese, Burmese, and Thai culinary traditions, making it one of the most distinctive festive feasts in Taiwan. Additionally, the Double Ten Carnival and National Flag House National Day flag-raising ceremony, along with the cross-ethnic parade and Zhongzheng characteristic market, feature a grand procession of Harley motorcycle riders and thousands of participants in ethnic costumes. This has turned into a major regional celebration, complemented by various traditional dances and cuisines from different ethnicities. The shopping district has consecutively been awarded third place in the national Charming Business District competition and second place in the Story Business District competition. In 2022, the Exotic Story Museum was officially established, showcasing the struggles and heroic history of the isolated troops who fought for security in the Taiwan Strait along the Yunnan-Myanmar border. This has become the biggest representative of the district, leading over 50 various rice noodle shops, Golden Triangle folk dance troupes, and a culture park in Zhongzheng New Village that combines retro with modern elements, along with an inspiring historical experience at the Exotic Story Museum. It welcomes every visitor to explore a feast for the senses, touching hearts while providing a passionate and diverse six-sense experience.
