Charming Golden Triangle Business District Introduction
The Charming Golden Triangle Shopping District is located in the Longgang Zhongzheng area of Taoyuan City. Named for its unique shops and residents primarily hailing from the exotic Golden Triangle region of Southeast Asia, it sits at the junction of the three towns of Zhongli, Pingzhen, and Bade. The shopping district is renowned for its diverse food culture that stems from Yunnan, Myanmar, and Thai immigrants. Although the original site of the Loyal Village, where the first batch of soldiers took refuge in Taiwan, has been demolished and replaced with buildings, the Zhongzheng Market, with 400 traditional stalls and over 50 various rice noodle shops, along with the national flag raising ceremony and performances at Yunnan Park, continue to uphold a rich and diverse food culture, stories of immigration, and various ethnic festivals, which are the three main characteristics of the shopping district. The two major regional festivals include the Longgang Rice Noodle Festival, held every April, showcasing the diverse ethnic flavors of the Golden Triangle and the food cultures of Yunnan, Myanmar, and Thailand. This festival has become one of the most unique culinary celebrations in Taiwan. Secondly, the Double Tenth Day Carnival and the national flag raising ceremony at the national flag house, along with the inter-ethnic parade and the distinctive Zhongzheng market, featuring a grand Harley motorcycle team and thousands of participants dressed in ethnic costumes, have turned into a major regional event. In addition, the diverse ethnic dance and food stores have led the shopping district to be awarded third place in the national Charming Business District competition and second place in the Story Business District competition. In 2022, the Exotic Story Museum was officially established, presenting the dramatic history of the soldiers who fought valiantly in the Yunnan-Myanmar border region and defended the security of the Taiwan Strait. It has become the district's most significant spokesperson, leading over 50 rice noodle shops, Golden Triangle folk dance troupes, and the cultural park of the Loyal Village that combines vintage and modern elements, along with the heart-stirring historical experiences at the Exotic Story Museum, welcoming every visitor with a rich sensory experience that explores taste, visual openness, emotional resonance, and passionate diversity.
