Zhongzheng Shopping District Introduction
In the 1950s, the troops and civilians from Yunnan and Myanmar who retreated to Taiwan settled in the Longgang area. To make a living, many of the Yunnanese and Burmese immigrants began selling their hometown delicacies, such as sausages, cured meats, pickled vegetables, Yunnan rice noodles, Yunnan pea flour, and cold shredded green papaya. These dishes, which have made their way across the seas, have flourished and become the region's most distinctive culinary offerings. Today, rice noodle shops can be seen everywhere in the business district. This dish, made by pouring rice liquid onto a large pot to steam into thin sheets, is served with broth made from pork bones, slices of meat, a freshly cooked egg wrap, and homemade sauce; it's indeed a bowl of rice noodles that leaves a lasting impression.
