Zhongzheng Shopping District Introduction
In the 1950s, the troops and civilians from the Yunnan-Myanmar region who retreated to Taiwan settled in the Longgang area. To make a living, many Yunnan-Myanmar immigrants began selling their hometown flavors, such as sausage, cured meat, pickled vegetables, Yunnan rice noodles, Yunnan pea flour, shredded green papaya salad, and Yunnan large flat noodles. These dishes thrived after crossing the ocean and became some of the most unique local culinary offerings. Nowadays, rice noodle shops can be seen throughout the business district. This dish involves pouring a rice batter onto a large pot to create a thin sheet that is steamed, then served with bone broth, slices of meat, freshly cooked eggs, and homemade sauce, resulting in a bowl of rice noodles that is unforgettable once tasted.
