Zhongzheng Commercial Area Introduction
In the 1950s, the troops and civilians from Yunnan and Myanmar who retreated to Taiwan settled in the Longgang area. To make a living, many of these immigrants began selling the flavors of their hometown, including sausages, cured meats, pickled vegetables, Yunnan rice noodles, Yunnan pea powder, shredded green papaya salad, and Yunnan large flat rice noodles. After crossing the sea, these dishes have flourished and become some of the most characteristic culinary offerings in the area. Nowadays, rice noodle shops can be found everywhere in the business district. This dish is made by pouring traditional rice milk onto a large steaming pot, producing thin sheets that are then served in a soup made from boiled bones, topped with slices of meat and freshly cooked eggs, and accompanied by homemade sauce, resulting in a bowl of rice noodles that is unforgettable after just one taste.
