Taoyuan Light and Shadow Cultural Museum (Light and Shadow Hall 2) Introduction
Chenggong Elementary School, the century-old temple - Jingfeng Temple, and the Taoyuan Fruit and Vegetable Market are all located in the culturally rich old town area, where every corner bears witness to the city's evolution. Located on Puxin Road, the Taoyuan Light and Shadow Cultural Center (Taoyuan Light and Shadow Second Hall) integrates the local street market culture, combining themes of art, nostalgia, and family movies, becoming an important cultural and artistic hub in the area. Originally a wellness activity center for the elderly, the Taoyuan Light and Shadow Cultural Center transitioned into a cultural center in 2005 and was redefined as a cultural hall in 2014, shining in harmony with the Taoyuan Light and Shadow Movie Theater (Taoyuan Light and Shadow First Hall) in Zhongli Matsu New Village. The exhibition hall on the first floor hosts three to four film-themed exhibitions each year, including illustration exhibitions, international women's film festivals, and art films, among others. It has invited well-known theater troupes such as the Apple Theatre, Wuzhou Garden Puppet Show, Cup Theatre, Haunted Doll Company, and Crazy Symphony Wind Orchestra, all of which attracted many participants. Additionally, the exhibition room also provides a platform for the Taoyuan Community University and schools to hold result exhibitions, promoting art at close proximity. The second floor features a newspaper reading area and community university classrooms, while the third floor contains a screening room, which, after renovations, now has nearly 200 seats. Just 2 kilometers away from the Taoyuan Performing Arts Center, the Taoyuan Light and Shadow Cultural Center also focuses on promoting art education, centering on film culture. It not only plans special film screenings, micro-films, and graduation film exhibitions for higher education institutions to showcase their film works but also provides exhibition space for emerging directors and artists. Additionally, summer film activities are organized to allow families to enjoy wonderful viewing experiences together.
