Taoyuan Light and Shadow Cultural Museum (Light and Shadow No. 2) Introduction
Chenggong Elementary School, the century-old temple - Jingfu Temple, and the Taoyuan Fruit and Vegetable Market, all located in the culturally rich old town area, each corner carries the traces of the city's evolution. The Taoyuan Light and Shadow Cultural Center (Taoyuan Light and Shadow II), located on Puxin Road, integrates the local street culture and combines themes of art, nostalgia, and family films, making it an important cultural and artistic hub in the area. Originally a senior citizens' activity center, the Taoyuan Light and Shadow Cultural Center was transformed into an arts and culture center in 2005 and later turned into a cultural center in 2014, shining alongside the Taoyuan Light and Shadow Movie Theater (Taoyuan Light and Shadow I) in Zhongli Matsu Village. The exhibition hall on the first floor hosts three to four themed film exhibitions every year, including illustration exhibitions, international women’s film festivals, art films, etc., and has invited renowned theater troupes such as the Apple Theatre, Wuzhou Garden Puppet Theatre, Cup Theatre, Kawaii Doll Company, and the Crazy Beautiful Symphony Wind Orchestra to perform, attracting many participants to each event. Additionally, the exhibition hall provides a platform for the Taoyuan Community University and schools to hold their成果發表展, creating a distance-free art promotion space. The second floor houses a newspaper reading area and classrooms for the community university, while the third floor features a screening room, which has been renovated to accommodate nearly 200 seats. Only 2 kilometers away from the Taoyuan Performance Center, the Taoyuan Light and Shadow Cultural Center also focuses on promoting art education, and with film culture as its core, it not only plans special film screenings, microfilms, and graduation film exhibitions for college film and television works, but also provides exhibition space for emerging directors and artists, and arranges summer film activities for families to enjoy wonderful movie-watching time together.
