Daxi Wood Art Ecology Museum - Wood Living Hall Introduction
The Wood Life Museum (originally the Chiang Kai-shek Residence) carries a narrative focused on prominent individuals and has a unique historical context as a living space. Continuing to showcase the meaning of life, it has transformed into the "Wood Life Museum," aligning with Daxi's characteristic woodcraft culture. The previously private living quarters have been opened to the public, allowing for the exchange and flourishing of skills, art, culture, and industry. The "Photosynthesis Space," the first large room upon entry, served as the reception area and meeting room of the former residence. Thus, the "Photosynthesis Space" is planned with a welcoming concept, featuring creations by local artisans to greet visitors. Here, viewers can engage in dialogue with the artworks, and the seeds of inspiration sprout as if bathed in sunlight; light meal services are also available. The "Nurturing Space" showcases a variety of wooden furniture and artworks, revealing the many facets of life. Visitors can experience the messages conveyed by the works, allowing the budding inspiration to flourish. The "New Birth Space," located near the scenic Dahan River, features installations that highlight the "wood theme" created by domestic and international artists. It aims for viewers to appreciate the diverse forms of wood craftsmanship and enjoy the beauty of wood life, encouraging reflections on integrating wood elements into daily life to embark on a new wooden lifestyle!
