Daxi Wood Art Ecological Museum - Wood Life Hall Introduction
The Wood Life Museum (formerly the Chiang Kai-shek Guesthouse) carries a narrative centered around a historical figure, having once been a living space with a special story. Continuing to showcase the meaning of life, it has transformed into the "Wood Life Museum," aligning with the unique woodcraft culture of Daxi. The formerly private living space is now open and public, allowing for the exchange and flourishing of skills, art, culture, and industry. The "Light Space," the first large room upon entry, was originally the reception area and meeting room of the guesthouse. Therefore, the "Light Space" is planned with the concept of hospitality, welcoming visitors through the creations of local craftsmen. Here, the audience can engage in dialogue with the artworks, and the seeds of inspiration sprout like they are basking in sunlight; light snacks are also offered. The "Nurturing Space" presents a variety of wooden furniture and artworks that display the myriad expressions of life. Visitors can experience the messages conveyed by the artworks, allowing the seedlings of inspiration to thrive. The "New Life Space," located near the scenic Dahan River, showcases works by domestic and international artists that revolve around the "wood theme." It hopes to provide the audience with an appreciation of the diverse aspects of wooden craftsmanship, inspiring them to incorporate wood elements into their lives and embark on a new wooden lifestyle.
