For more details, please refer to the link. Starting today, the Wood Art Eco-Museum (Old Town Guided Tour Route) will meet at the Historical Museum (No. 23 Pujih Road, Daxi District). Daxi is the earliest developed area in Taoyuan, where small boats navigate the Dahan River for trade with the mainland, which led to the establishment of many businesses and merchants. During the Japanese colonial Taisho era, the Baroque architectural style became popular, and the old streets, such as Heping Road and Zhongshan Road, feature shops that blend Baroque ornamentation with traditional Minnan decorative patterns, including Greek pediments, Roman columns, and Chinese motifs like fish and bats that symbolize good fortune, creating a unique style specific to Daxi. Heping Old Street, developed later, has better-preserved old buildings, and is lined with distinctive shops, making it quite lively. The area around Daxi Old Street includes famous attractions such as Daxi Bridge, Li Tengfang Ancient Residence, various temple relics, Wude Hall Cultural Heritage Site, and the Daxi Wood Art Eco-Museum. Of course, visitors should also sample traditional Taiwanese snacks at the old street and experience Taiwanese folk games, especially Daxi tofu, moon cakes, peanut candy, douhua (tofu pudding), rice pudding, and tangyuan (glutinous rice balls), all of which are must-try local delicacies! It is definitely one of the must-visit spots in Taoyuan to experience authentic Taiwanese flavors!
