Daxi Wood Art Ecological Museum - Wude Hall Introduction
Daxi Wude Hall was completed in 1935. Before World War II, the Japanese promoted militarism and the spirit of Bushido, constructing Wude Halls in various locations for police and young people to practice judo and kendo. In 1950, the hall was repurposed as the Presidential Residence, and the Daxi Military Police Corps was established, using the Wude Hall as barracks. After the military police withdrew in 1999, a large-scale restoration was carried out by the Daxi Township Office in 2000, and the hall was reopened in 2001. In 2004, it was designated as a historical building in Taoyuan County. In 2015, it was entrusted to the Moku Museum for management, and renovations of the auxiliary buildings and reconstruction of the corridor were completed in May 2016. It now serves as an exhibition space for large special exhibitions.
