Daxi Wood Art Ecological Museum - Wude Hall Introduction
Daxi Martial Arts Hall was completed in 1940 (Showa 15). Before World War II, the Japanese promoted militarism and samurai spirit and built martial arts halls in various locations for police and young men to practice judo and kendo. In 1950, the hall was converted into a presidential residence and served as the barracks for the Daxi Military Police. After the military police withdrew in 1999, the Daxi Township Office carried out the first large-scale restoration in 2000, and the hall was reopened in 2001. It was declared a historical building in Taoyuan County in 2004. In 2015, it was handed over to the Wood Art Museum for management, and in May 2016, repairs to the annex and the reconstruction of the corridor were completed. It currently serves as an exhibition space for large special exhibitions.
