Daxi Wood Art Ecological Museum - Wude Hall Introduction
Daxi Wude Hall was completed in the 10th year of the Showa era (1935). Before World War II, the Japanese promoted militarism and the spirit of Bushido, constructing Wude Halls across the country for police and youth to practice judo and kendo. In 1950, the public hall was converted into the Presidential Mansion, establishing a military police unit in Daxi and using the Wude Hall as barracks. After the military police withdrew in 1999, Daxi Town Office carried out the first large-scale restoration in 2000, and it was reopened in 2001. In 2004, it was designated as a historical building in Taoyuan City. In 2015, it was entrusted to the Muku Museum for management, and in May 2016, renovations to the annex and reconstruction of the corridor were completed. It currently serves as an exhibition space for large-scale special exhibitions.
