Daxi Wood Art Eco Museum - Wude Hall Introduction
Daxi Wude Temple was completed in 1935 during the Showa Era. Before World War II, the Japanese promoted militarism and the spirit of Bushido, constructing Wude Temples in various locations for police and young men to practice judo and kendo. In 1950, the public hall was converted into the Presidential Villa, housing the Daxi Military Police, with the Wude Temple serving as barracks. After the Military Police withdrew in 1999, the Daxi Township Office conducted its first major restoration in 2000, and it was reopened in 2001. In 2004, it was announced as a historical building in Taoyuan County. In 2015, management was handed over to the Matsu Wood Art Museum, and in May 2016, repairs to the ancillary buildings and the reconstruction of the corridor were completed. It currently functions as an exhibition space for large-scale special exhibitions.
