Shahau Art Village Introduction
Follow the path and push open a wooden door, slowly descending the timber stairs, you enter this artistic and mysterious space, which is the Shalu Art Village! Located within the Baoshan Reservoir, the brick houses built during the Japanese colonial period face the lake, uniquely enjoying the natural beauty. The lush trees are reflected on the lake surface, and the gentle breeze stirs the water into ripples, creating a dreamlike atmosphere. This place is filled with an artistic ambiance, providing artists with a residency to create while also offering the public a way to connect with art. On a leisurely afternoon, you can stroll around the art village, admire the lake views, and enjoy a rich cup of coffee, fully immersing in the tranquility and humility that the combination of art and scenery brings. Besides the water colors and art, Shalu Art Village also showcases seasonal rural landscapes, always presenting something fresh. In early winter, olives bear fruit; in spring, cherry blossoms bloom; in May, the tung flowers create a scene resembling white snow in the mountains; the yellow blossoms of the yellow flame tree evoke affection; and at the end of autumn, sweet pomelos and starfruits ripen, reflecting the changes of the four seasons.
