Xiuluan Hot Springs Introduction
Xiuluan Hot Spring is located in Xiuluan Village, JianShi Township, Hsinchu County, at the confluence of Yufeng Creek, Taigang Creek, and Baishi Creek. It is the earliest and most famous open-air wild creek hot spring in JianShi Township. The spring water is colorless, odorless, and slightly acidic. Here, visitors can enjoy the scenic beauty of the valley, including the "Battleship Rock," which resembles a warship setting sail. Walking across the Kongxi Suspension Bridge and the Battleship Rock Suspension Bridge provides further opportunities to appreciate the stunning views of Xiuluan. In autumn, vibrant red maple leaves layer among the mountains, while at the end of the suspension bridge, there is a famous maple forest. Early spring brings blooming mountain cherry blossoms along the way, creating breathtaking scenery. Xiuluan Hot Spring has two hot spring outcrops. The first can be reached by walking down the riverbed next to the Kongxi Suspension Bridge, arriving at the confluence of Yufeng Creek and Taigang Creek after approximately 170 meters, offering the best views of Battleship Rock. The second can be accessed via a small path next to the Guankxi Pavilion, reaching the riverbed in about 100 meters, with the hot spring pool located directly below the Xiuluan Inspection Station, where fewer visitors can be found. The natural hot spring pool area changes location annually due to rising river water. Xiuluan Hot Spring is a weakly alkaline carbonated spring, located in Xiuluan Village, one of the many wild creek hot springs in Taiwan, with a robust spring source emerging from the clear Takkin Creek. The water temperature is not high, and the water is clear, colorless, and odorless. Due to its remote location and inconvenient transportation, it retains its original scenic charm.
