Xiuluan Warship Rock Trail Introduction
The Xiuluan Battleship Rock Trail is an exciting route that combines stunning natural landscapes with historical and cultural relics. The trail begins at the Yufeng Creek Valley, where the blue waters of the creek converge with the White Stone Creek and Taigang Creek, standing at the confluence is a magnificent giant rock—Battleship Rock, whose imposing shape resembles a warship about to set sail, making it a classic landmark in this scenic area. Entering from the Xiuluan Road, take a walk to the Battleship Rock Suspension Bridge, which offers the best view of Battleship Rock, allowing visitors to appreciate the grandeur of the giant rock. For those who wish to feel the magnificence up close, a small path lined with bamboo on the left leads down to get closer to the imposing structure. After crossing the suspension bridge, the trail transitions into a historical exploration of the Tunye Wild Cannon Base ruins. Following the steep stone steps through the bamboo forest, visitors gradually enter a primitive mountain path, embarking on a journey through time. This area was once an important stationed site during the Japanese colonial period, preserving the remains of the Outpost and the remnants of a guard post, along with a pavilion nearby for travelers to take a short rest. The Tunye Wild Cannon Base ruins encompass a wide area, preserving facilities such as trenches, barracks foundations, and practice fields, witnessing the history of the Japanese police monitoring the Atayal people in the Qianshi Mountain area.
