Feifeng Old Trail Introduction
The Feifeng Ancient Trail connects Xianglin in Hsinchu and Guanshi and is part of the National Greenway "Zhang's Fine Road." During the Qing Dynasty to the Japanese colonial period, the ancient trail was a vital route for transportation and the circulation of goods in the mountainous regions, with agricultural products transported to Daxi, Mengjia, and Tamsui, even exported abroad, forming a complete transportation network. With the opening of roads like Provincial Highway 3, the ancient trail gradually fell into oblivion. In recent years, it has been maintained by private organizations, with some sections repaired using handcrafted trail techniques, transforming it into a leisure walking path for the public. The ancient trail is lush and the terrain is gentle, making it suitable for a light one-day trip combined with the Guanshi Old Street or Luciao Keng to experience the charm of natural ecology and the culture of the mountain Hakka community.
