Luliao Stream Trail Introduction
Luliao Keng Recreation Area’s Paulownia Flower Trail features a systematic path for appreciating Paulownia flowers, starting from the 300-year-old Ficus tree, through the Paulownia Flower Tunnel I → Paulownia Flower Tunnel II → Firefly Viewing Area → Wetland Farm → Shiyen and Shiniang Stones → Paulownia Flower Trail II → General Zou Hong's Former Residence → Paulownia Flower Trail → Zhongwu Quarters. Among these, the path through the wetland farm is the most distinctive, located at the top of Damshui Wo. Due to its abundant water sources and lack of human development, it preserves a rich ecosystem, teeming with apple snails, mud eels, and wild ducks queuing for food. The area is also home to a variety of bird species; while walking through the mountains and forests, one can often hear the calls of blue magpies and rainbow birds, with the mountain hawk circling overhead. Don’t forget to bring binoculars when visiting the wetland farm to closely observe the birds. The wetland farm is especially perfect during the firefly season on summer nights.
