Ita Thao Pier Business District, Sun Moon Lake Introduction

Ida Shao, originally known as Dehua Community, is the most populous area of the indigenous Shao tribe. Every year in the lunar month of August, the Shao tribe holds the Ancestor Spirit Festival, during which tribe members hold grand ceremonial rituals in Ida Shao, attracting many visitors to participate in the festivities. The Ida Shao Pier is one of the three major piers at Sun Moon Lake and is a popular spot where tourists must disembark to explore. At the square near Ida Shao Pier, there are often cultural performances and dance shows by indigenous groups, and occasionally, unique event markets are held. Next to Ida Shao Pier is the bustling Ida Shao business district, a must-visit place for tourists at Sun Moon Lake. The main streets of the business district are arranged in a specific layout, with numerous gift shops, guesthouses, and restaurants, offering a variety of local specialties. Traditional indigenous delicacies such as wild boar sausage, millet mochi, millet wine, bamboo rice, and more tempt visitors' taste buds. Of course, tourists should not miss the famous Sun Moon Lake black tea; starting with a fragrant and sweet red jade black tea, visitors can also take home some boxes of black tea egg rolls as souvenirs!
