Little Horse Tunnel Introduction
The Xiaoma Tunnel, located in Chenggong Township, Taitung, is a flatland highway tunnel that passes through the magnificent Coastal Mountain Range, connecting Taiwan Route 11 and Taiwan Route 23. The tunnel has witnessed the transportation and agricultural development of the Taiyuan Basin through the Japanese colonial period and the post-war years. With a total length of approximately 230 meters, the tunnel allows only one-way traffic, and its walls retain the marks of manual excavation from years past, making it feel as though one is stepping back in time upon entering.
