Jinzun Fishing Port Introduction
Jinzun Fishing Port is located in Donghe Township, Taitung County, situated between Xinguang Fishing Port in Chenggong Township and Fugang Fishing Port in Taitung City. Construction commenced in 1984 and was completed in 1987. Jinzun Fishing Port is not only an excellent fishing spot, attracting numerous anglers year-round, but starting in November, the northeast monsoon waves make it a prime surfing venue. Since 2011, with the support of the Taitung County Government, Jinzun Fishing Port has become the site for the "Taiwan International Surfing Open," which is not only Taiwan's highest level international surfing event but also recognized as an international competition by the World Surf League. This has attracted not only surfers from across Taiwan but also many top international competitors to participate. The popularity of surfing has led to the gathering of many domestic and international visitors in the Donghe community to the north of Jinzun Fishing Port. There are many surf-themed guesthouses and sea-view accommodations, as well as outdoor taverns offering fresh seafood, baos, hand-brewed coffee, handmade desserts, and more, making it a well-known culinary destination.
