Bajiang Rest Area Introduction

On the long Taiwan Route 11, the Bazhaizi Observatory can be considered the most beautiful "turning point" of this road. When driving through this hairpin turn from Hualien City, the scenery shifts dramatically from the lush green mountains on both sides to the vast Pacific Ocean, with the Coastal Mountain Range rising majestically. Looking east from this observatory, the majestic blue waters of the Pacific Ocean can make one forget the fatigue of the journey, and to the south, one can overlook the charming Jiqi Bay. The cool sea breeze blows, making one tempted to take a nap here. This rest area, aside from pavilions and restrooms, also features an information station and a small shop where various indigenous handicrafts and refreshing sweet treats can replenish your energy and enhance your travel memories. Additionally, beneath the observation deck, the Eastern Branch has set up a 100-meter long boardwalk, which ends at a cool grassy platform under the shade of trees where visitors can relax, cool off, and listen to the soothing sounds of cicadas and birds in the mountains. Transportation: ● Public Transportation: Hualien Bus (Coastal Line via Taiwan Route 11) - Take routes 1127, 1140, or 1145 and get off at Bazhaizi Station. ● By Car: Address: Taiwan Route 11, 31.5 km, Jiqi Village, Fengbin Township, Hualien County.
