The Dongdamen commercial district is formed around the old Eastern Line railway, centered on the Dongdamen Night Market and linking to a century-old store area (Dayu Street, Yixin Street), a souvenir street (Zhonghua Road), Xinguang Street, Jiejue Street, and the old railway pedestrian zone, creating a rich cultural atmosphere. The century-old store area features many local businesses and specialty foods; the souvenir street offers local specialties from Hualien, suitable for both gifting and personal use; Xinguang Street gathers numerous popular snack stalls serving various meals to cater to the community from breakfast to late-night cravings, while Jiejue Street has cafes and creative shops with a trendy vibe.
