Carp Lake Introduction
Liuyuan Lake is the largest inland lake in eastern Taiwan. Every summer, the "Red-faced Duck" family quietly comes to this place, spending a joyful summer vacation with people of all ages. Due to erosion from the upstream, there have been river capture phenomena between the Pinghe River and the Baibao River, as well as between the Lao River and the Baibao River, which caused a change in the flow of the Lao River and a sudden reduction in the water volume of the ancient copper orchid creek. Additionally, the alluvial fan of the Wenlan River on the north side of Liuyuan Lake has collapsed and accumulated sediment, blocking the outflow of Liuyuan Lake and causing the Lao River to surge out, forming a dammed lake, which is today's Liuyuan Lake. Liuyuan Lake is a popular spot for leisurely boating, cycling around the lake, or strolling along the waterfront. The waterfront recreation area on the west side of the lake features various water activities and facilities suitable for the whole family to relax and enjoy the scenery; a 5-kilometer dedicated cycling path around the lake allows cyclists to explore the beautiful lake and mountain views; on the 601-meter-high Liuyuan Mountain, there are several forest trails, which are perfect walking routes for enjoying forest bathing, birdwatching, and flower viewing. Transportation: ● Public Transport 1. Taiwan Tourist Shuttle (Zhonggu Valley Hualien Line) - Line 303 (Low Floor) - Get off at Liuyuan Lake North Visitor Center Station. 2.
