Liuyitan Introduction
Li Yu Tan is located at the foot of Li Yu Mountain in Chi Nan Village, Shoufeng Township, and is named after the nearby Li Yu Mountain. Li Yu Tan can be divided into the southern and northern areas, with the northern area close to Tongmen Mu Valley and Emerald Valley, while the southern area is adjacent to the Chi Nan Forest Recreation Area and Bai Bao Creek. It is a popular scenic area in Hualien, offering a variety of recreational activities such as a lakeside trail, forest trails, stand-up paddleboarding, and boat rides. During holidays, it is a great place for locals to picnic and enjoy outdoor activities with children. During the firefly breeding season, the sparkling glow illuminates the dark Li Yu Tan, attracting schools, families, and tourists to participate in an ecological tour.
