Liutang Bicycle Path (Coastal Bicycle Path) Introduction
The Two Tar Bicycle Path has a section that borders the Pacific Ocean and connects Liwu Lake and Qixingtan, hence its name. Most people start from South Coast Park, passing by North Coast Park, Sunrise Bridge, Hualien Bird Treading Stone Park, and finally reaching the Hualien Harbor Scenic Bridge. Locals refer to it as the "Coastal Bicycle Path." Along the route, there are public restrooms, parks, parking lots, and even bicycle rental stations. Friends visiting from other places can rent bicycles or electric bikes to ride along the Pacific or walk to enjoy the vast ocean view, which is refreshing. The Two Tar Bicycle Path is an independently planned bicycle path, so there's no need to worry about sharing the road with motor vehicles. The entire route includes bike lanes converted from former railroads, offering abundant greenery and high safety. You can stop and go along the way, enjoying the sea breeze and the scenic view, making for a pleasant experience. In addition to cycling, North Coast Park also offers facilities for beach volleyball, extreme sports, and a water play area for parents and children, making it a favorite walking spot for locals.
