Chen Yong-bin Woodworking DIY Studio Introduction
The Chen Yong-bin Woodworking DIY Studio is located in Nanpu Village. It was founded by master craftsman Chen Yong-bin, who specializes in woodworking art. The studio offers woodworking DIY courses and calligraphy classes, allowing the public to experience woodworking art firsthand. Upon entering the studio, one finds an environment where wood and tools intermingle, showcasing the craftsman's dedication while revealing the romantic character of an artist. Chen Yong-bin places great emphasis on detail and safety; students must first learn the theoretical foundations and industrial safety courses before using heavy machinery. Beginners start with small projects and are encouraged to express their creativity and determine the direction of their own work. The studio houses nearly a hundred types of professional woodworking and metalworking machinery, enabling students to experience various techniques firsthand. For example, students can use shapers to turn driftwood into benches, beginning with drawing design sketches and gradually completing their projects. The instructor is uncompromising on details, requiring students to practice each step meticulously. Although the prototypes of the projects may not be evident at first, the process is already exciting. After completing the first bench, the next challenge is to make a table. Once the door to craft exploration is opened, an endless world of wonders unfolds before one’s eyes, captivating and enthralling all who enter.
