Wuzhishan Trail Introduction
Wuzhi Mountain, located at the junction of Beipu, Zhudong, and Wu-feng Townships, has a continuous range of peaks resembling five fingers, which is how it got its name. Since ancient times, Wuzhi Mountain has been known for its imposing and rugged mountain shape. In the Qing Dynasty, it was listed as one of the Eight Scenic Spots of Danshui in the "Tamsui District Records" and hailed as "Peak Fingers Reaching the Sky." It was also included in the "Eight Scenic Spots of Qian Nan" as "Five Fingers Linking the Clouds." During the Japanese colonial period, Wuzhi Mountain was selected as one of Taiwan's Twelve Scenic Spots. It is very popular among mountain enthusiasts and is classified as one of Taiwan's Minor Hundred Peaks, as well as being selected as one of Taiwan’s Hundred Famous Mountains.
