Wuzhishan Trail Introduction
Wuzhishan, located at the junction of Beipu, Zhudong, and Wufeng townships in Hsinchu County, features continuous peaks that resemble five fingers, hence its name. Since ancient times, Wuzhishan has been renowned for its steep mountain formations and majestic scenery. It was listed as one of the eight scenic spots of Danshui in the Qing Dynasty's "Tamsui Hall Gazetteer", referred to as "The Peaks Reaching the Sky," and was also included in the "Eight Scenic Spots of Qian Nan" under the name "Five Fingers Connecting the Clouds." During the Japanese colonial period, Wuzhishan was designated as one of Taiwan's Twelve Scenic Wonders. Wuzhishan is very popular among hikers, recognized as one of Taiwan's Minor Hundred Mountains and included in the list of Taiwan's Top One Hundred Mountains.
