Xiao Wan-Chang Memorial Museum Introduction
The Hsiao Wan-chang Memorial Museum was established in 2006, expanding from the Hsiao Wan-chang Director's Archive. It houses a collection of 2,549 artifacts, including medals, artworks, paintings, and important documents from Hsiao Wan-chang's 50 years in public service and his tenure as Vice President, donated to National Chiayi University for educational research and cultural purposes. The museum is located on the fifth floor of the National Chiayi University Library, covering an area of 116.5 ping (approximately 386 square meters). It is divided into several sections: the Entrance Hall features a sundial that highlights Mr. Hsiao's personal life, along with the Order of Cheng-ching awarded during his vice presidency; the Art and Digital Resources Exhibition Room showcases a sundial, aerial photographs of Chiayi City, and designs of the Chiayi City flower on the exhibition floor, presenting various aspects of Vice President Hsiao’s administrative achievements, as well as a large touchscreen computer and a multimedia projection room for interactive display of digital artifacts; the Special Collection Room exhibits Dr. Hsiao's press releases, speeches, news clippings, and important meeting records, along with a display of various honorary degree robes and significant paintings and collectibles.
