Jiuhua Mountain Dizang Temple Introduction
The thriving Jiuhua Mountain Dizang Temple! Jiuhua Mountain Dizang Temple, formerly known as "Jiayi Beiyue Dian Dizang Wang - Jiuhua Mountain Dizang Temple," primarily enshrines Dizang Bodhisattva in the main hall, and Shakyamuni Buddha in the Great Hero Hall, with the front courtyard housing the Taisui Hall and Wenchang Hall; the Great Compassion Hall is dedicated to Guanyin Bodhisattva, the Amitabha Hall to Amitabha Buddha, and the Medicine Buddha Hall to the Medicine Buddha, while the top-level Great Wish Hall worships the Four Bodhisattvas of the Namo Great Wish Dizang Wang. The main statue of Dizang Bodhisattva is said to be a creation of the master of pottery from Jiaozhi, Ye Wang, characterized by its solemn compassion and divine blessings. Due to its frequent miracles and assistance to people, protecting the community, it has become the most important center of faith. The annual rituals include the Shangyuan Festival, the Zhongyuan Festival, and the Xiayuan Festival, with participation numbers reaching tens of thousands each time, making it extremely prosperous. The incense offerings at the Dizang Temple are abundant, often conducting charitable relief, offering blessings to all beings, and soothing the hearts of the people. The main statue of Dizang Bodhisattva in the temple, along with the statues of the Ten Kings of Hell, are ancient artifacts of great value. Historical trivia: The golden statue of Dizang Bodhisattva at Jiuhua Mountain was brought to Taiwan by a benevolent person during the late Ming Dynasty and was established at its current site in the 36th year of the Kangxi era (1697), marking over 300 years of history. In the 56th year of the Kangxi era (1717), military commander You Chonggong built the temple, and in the 25th year of the Qianlong era (1760), county magistrate Li Tan expanded it, beginning to take on some scale, followed by multiple renovations, and rebuilt in the 60th year of the Republic of China into a seven-story lotus treasure hall.
