Jiuhua Mountain Dizang Temple Introduction
The prosperous Jiuhua Mountain Dizang Temple! Formerly known as "Jia Yi Bei Yue Dian Dizang Wang - Jiuhua Mountain Dizang Temple," the main hall of the Temple enshrines the Bodhisattva Dizang, while the Daxiong Hall enshrines Shakyamuni Buddha, with the front yard housing the Taisui Hall and the Wen Chang Hall. The Great Compassion Hall enshrines Guanyin, the Amitabha Hall enshrines Amitabha Buddha, and the Medicine Buddha Hall enshrines the Medicine Buddha, while the top-level Great Wish Hall honors the Four Bodhisattvas of the Great Wish Dizang. The temple's main deity, the Bodhisattva Dizang, is traditionally said to be a creation of the master Ye Wang from Jiaozhi ceramics, depicted with a dignified and compassionate appearance, known for granting divine blessings. Due to its frequent manifestations and assistance to people, and its protection of the community, it has become a significant center of faith. Annual ceremonies include the Shangyuan ceremony, the Zhongyuan ceremony, and the Xinyuan ceremony, with thousands of participants each time, making it a remarkably grand event. The Dizang Temple thrives, often engaging in charitable aid, universal salvation, and comforting the people's hearts. The statue of the Bodhisattva Dizang and the ten Yama Kings in the temple are ancient relics of great value. History trivia: the golden statue of the Bodhisattva Dizang was brought to Taiwan by a benevolent person at the end of the Ming Dynasty, and in the 36th year of the Kangxi period (1697), it was dedicated at its current location, marking over three hundred years of history. In the 56th year of the Kangxi period (1717), the North Road garrison Jiubao built the temple. In the 25th year of the Qianlong period (1760), County Magistrate Li Tan expanded it, and it began to take shape. It underwent multiple renovations and was rebuilt in the 60th year of the Republic of China into a seven-story lotus treasure hall.
