Lin Family Ancestral Hall in Taichung Introduction
The Lin Family Ancestral Hall in Taichung was established in the eighth year of the Taisho era (1919) and completed in the fifth year of the Showa era (1930), taking a total of twelve years for all construction work. It was initiated by the renowned master craftsman Chen Ying-bin from Zhangzhou and has a history of nearly a hundred years. Its grand layout and exquisite carvings are considered classic among ancestral halls, while the impressive craftsmanship of other artisans, such as stone carvings and paintings, also adds to the architectural elegance of the Lin Family Ancestral Hall. The scale of the Lin Family Ancestral Hall is grand, holding an important place among temple buildings in central Taiwan.
