Green Rail Trail 1908 Introduction
Taichung Station, which has been in operation since 1908, has a history of over a century. After its transformation into an elevated rail system, the original railway has been converted into a green corridor. The green space extends 21.7 kilometers from Daqing Station to Fengyuan Station, with the green railway segment stretching 1.6 kilometers from Taichung Station. This elevated garden, renovated from the old railway, preserves the historical and cultural heritage of the railway while connecting the Railway Cultural Park, historical sites, and the station business district. Walking along the path offers a bird's-eye view of the green river and the old railway tracks, with a multi-layered landscape design that allows you to experience Taichung from a different perspective. Along the trail, numerous sculpted corridors stand as a testament to the memories of the old railway over the past century, and the unique local landscape design has been recognized with numerous awards both domestically and internationally.
