Green Trail 1908 Introduction
Taichung Station has a history of over a century since its full line opening in 1908. After being transformed into an elevated railway, the original railway has been converted into a green corridor. The green corridor stretches 21.7 kilometers from Daqing Station to Fengyuan Station, with the green railway being a segment that extends 1.6 kilometers north and south from Taichung Station. This sky garden, transformed from the old railway, preserves the historical heritage of the railway while connecting the Railway Cultural Park, historical sites, and the station commercial district. Walking along the path from above offers a view of the green river and the old tracks, with a multi-layered landscape arrangement allowing you to see Taichung from a different perspective. Along the pathway, numerous sculpture corridors stand to commemorate many memories of the old railway over the past century, and the unique local landscape design has received recognition and awards both domestically and internationally.
