National Public Information Library Introduction
The National Digital Library of Public Information (NDLPI) is a national-level public library and digital library in Taiwan. In addition to collecting, organizing, and archiving various books and digital resources, promoting reading, and providing information services, it is also responsible for guiding public libraries at all levels across the country. Its main building is located on Wuqiao South Road in the South District of Taichung City and was inaugurated in 2012 (the 101st year of the Republic of China). It has three branches: Liming, Jingwu, and Zhongxing. The main building consists of five above-ground floors and two basement levels, covering an area of 2.164 hectares, with a total floor area of approximately 41,797 square meters. It is generally divided into areas for reader services, conference and learning, public services, and administrative support. The building's exterior features a flowing design, symbolizing a river that carries infinite knowledge. The interior space adopts an outside-in design concept, integrating outdoor views from different floors into the interior color schemes and furnishings, creating a spacious, bright, and modern indoor environment. Special areas are designated for different age groups, such as children, teenagers, and seniors. The library combines emerging technologies like motion sensing, augmented reality, radio frequency identification, and 3D cinema to design interactive and engaging experience installations, making it a great place for the public to read, relax, and learn.
