National Public Information Library Introduction
The National Public Information Library (NPIL) is a national-level public library and digital library in Taiwan. In addition to collecting, organizing, and preserving various books and digital resources, the library promotes reading and provides information services, and is also responsible for guiding public libraries at all levels across the country. The main branch is located on Wuqiu South Road in the South District of Taichung City, and it was inaugurated in 2012. It has three branches: Liming, Jingwu, and Zhongxing. The main building consists of five floors above ground and two underground floors, covering an area of 2.164 hectares, with a floor area of approximately 41,797 square meters. It is generally divided into areas for reader services, conference and learning, public services, and administrative support. The exterior design resembles a flowing river, symbolizing the infinite flow of knowledge. Interior spaces utilize an outside-in design concept, integrating the outdoor views from different floors into the interior color scheme and furniture, creating a spacious and bright modern atmosphere. Moreover, there are designated areas for different age groups, including children, teenagers, and seniors. The library incorporates emerging technologies like motion sensing, augmented reality, wireless radio frequency, and 3D movies, planning interactive and engaging experience installations, making it an excellent place for the public to read, relax, and learn.
