National Public Information Library Introduction
The National Public Information Library (NPI Library) is a national-level public and digital library. In addition to collecting, organizing, and preserving various books and digital resources, promoting reading, and providing information services, it also has the task of guiding public libraries of all levels across the country. The main branch is located at 5, Wuqian South Road, South District, Taichung City, and was completed and opened in 2012. It has three branches: Liming, Jingwu, and Zhongxing. The main building consists of five above-ground floors and two underground floors, covering an area of 2.164 hectares, with a floor area of approximately 41,797 square meters. It is generally divided into areas for reader services, conference and learning, public services, and administrative support. The library's exterior is designed with a streamlined shape reminiscent of a river, symbolizing the flow of infinite knowledge. The interior space employs an outside-in design concept, incorporating outdoor views from different floors into the interior color scheme and furniture, creating a spacious, bright, and modern indoor environment. Special areas are also set up for different age groups, such as children, teenagers, and seniors. The library integrates emerging technologies such as motion sensing, augmented reality, radio frequency identification, and 3D movies to plan interactive and user-friendly experience installations, making it a great place for the public to read, relax, and learn.
