National Public Information Library Introduction
The National Public Information Library (NPL) is a national-level public and digital library that collects, organizes, and preserves various books and digital resources, promotes reading, and provides information services. It also has the mission of guiding public libraries at all levels across the country. The main branch is located on Wuqian South Road in the South District of Taichung City and was completed and opened in 2012. It has three branches: Liming, Jingwu, and Zhongxing. The main building consists of five above-ground floors and two地下 floors, covering an area of 2.164 hectares, with a total floor area of approximately 41,797 square meters. The space is generally divided into reader service areas, conference and learning areas, public service areas, and administrative support areas. The exterior of the library features a streamlined design that symbolizes a river carrying infinite knowledge. The interior space incorporates an "outside-in" design concept, blending outdoor views from different floors into the interior decor and furniture, creating a spacious, bright, and modern atmosphere. There are also designated areas for different age groups such as children, teenagers, and seniors. The library integrates emerging technologies such as gesture recognition, augmented reality, RFID, and 3D movies, planning interactive and engaging experience devices, making it an excellent place for the public to read, relax, and learn.
