Fourth Credit Cooperative Introduction
After "Miyahara," the Sunrise Group, known for its pastries, has once again created a new highlight in Taichung's old architecture—the Fourth Credit Cooperative. This building was completed in 1966, and the newly renovated Fourth Credit Cooperative retains its original name while deliberately keeping the old reinforced concrete appearance, exposing the building's structure and beams, creating a beautiful interplay of the old and the new. The interior decor adopts a retro style, featuring photos of past cooperative employees on the walls, pebble flooring in the arcade, tiles under the bar counter on the second floor, and a vault door design, all contributing to the ambiance of the original cooperative. The arcade of the Fourth Credit Cooperative sells Feng Ren ice and various fruit shaved ice, using a hand-cranked traditional shaved ice machine, designed to resemble fruit ice blocks and decorated with jelly and seaweed sugar, making it both delicious and aesthetically pleasing. Inside the first floor, various flavors of ice cream are sold, with each ice cream named after classic old songs, giving it a unique twist. The dining area features a design where golden light fixtures are suspended beneath the unadorned ceiling, creating a dim yet cleverly dissonant atmosphere. The second floor offers a variety of cold drinks, braised foods, snacks, and more.
