Guantian Waterhen Ecological Education Park Introduction
The Watercock Ecological Education Park is the best place for birdwatching in Guantian District. This is the result of bird enthusiasts' long-term efforts to observe watercock ecology over more than a decade. Starting from just two shipping containers and a plot of wasteland, they gradually established an environment suitable for watercocks. With the surrounding areas planted with water caltrop and rice paddies, the food sources for birds are abundant, making this pond vibrant with life. Birdwatchers can explore using the telescopes set up in the birdwatching pavilion within the park. The individual birdwatching window frames resemble paintings hung on a wall, each offering a different view. Birds are sensitive creatures, so it's essential to be quiet and speak softly while quietly appreciating them through the telescope. During the breeding season, the waters of the ecological reserve come alive with the flight and calls of watercocks performing a spectacular dance. After the chicks are born, one can also see the watercock parents busily feeding them. This is a paradise for the water nymphs and a hidden gem for bird lovers.
