Shoushan National Nature Park Introduction
Shoushan National Nature Park is the most precious green gem of Kaohsiung City. It not only offers natural resources but also has a rich historical and cultural heritage. The park covers an extensive area, stretching from Banping Mountain and Guishan in Zuoying District in the north to Chaisan (Shoushan) and Qihou Mountain in Gushan District, encompassing a total area of 1,122.654 hectares. The entire area is characterized by elevated limestone geology formed from coral reefs, hosting a diverse range of flora and fauna, creating an urban oasis in Kaohsiung. Within the park, in addition to recreational areas, there are also historical preservation areas, special scenic areas, and controlled areas. Shoushan National Nature Park features numerous trails, making it the best location for enjoying panoramic views of Greater Kaohsiung and observing the ecological plants and geological features. It also serves as the primary base for Kaohsiung's transformation from an industrial city to an ecological city.
