Old Dagou Station Story House Introduction
The former prosperity of Hamasen is closely related to the Takow Station during the Japanese colonial period. The name "Hamasen" is derived from the Japanese pronunciation of "浜線" (hamasen), which originally referred to the branch line from Takow Station to the cargo warehouses at the port during the Japanese rule. Later, it broadly referred to the area west of Takow Station (now the Old Takow Station Story Museum) to the ferry terminals, making it the origin of Kaohsiung's modernization.
