Hamasen Railway Cultural Park Introduction
Hamasen was once a hub for maritime and railway transportation in the south. The name "Hamasen" is derived from the Japanese pronunciation of "浜線" (hamasen), originally referring to the branch line from Kaohsiung Port Station to the cargo warehouses at the docks during the Japanese colonial era. It later broadly referred to the area west of Kaohsiung Port Station (now the Old Takao Railway Station Museum) up to the ferry terminal.
